We've been missing! - Lollie

Hello people of the planet, Lollie here.
A very tired, exhausted Lollie but none the less, I am here.
Even though the girls and I don't post on here as much any more, we still actively talk on a groupchat on Facebook that we have. Belle pointed out yesterday that this blog has over 8000 views now! That's insane!
I thought I'd come back and give you all a little update on what's been happening since the last time I got round to posting anything.
I'm at universtiy now - that's right, I'm finally a uni student. I got the grades (just) to study Journalism at the University of Bedfordshire and I'm loving it. I'm learning lots that I didn't know about journalism as well as improving my existing skill further.
I have a lovely group of friends here and I'm part of the Musical Theatre Society. We meet every week on a Thursday for two hours and do incredible workshops. We also have a circle (like a social drinking game thing before you go out to the clubs) on a Wednesday night which is really fun and I look forward to that every week.
My lectures are on Monday's and Tuesday's and I have to catch the bus to Milton Keynes from Bedford because there is no student accommodation at the Milton Keynes campus.
I am also just starting to become part of a radio show on Secklow Sounds radio in MK which is exciting. I was on the show on Thursday for the first time but I'm going to be there regularly along with other people on my course.
Besides uni, I've done a lot since I last wrote on here. I went to Brighton Pride with Valerie and a few of my other LGBTQ friends. I had the best day ever and the weather was so lovely I actually got sunburnt!
I went away for 5 weeks to see my dad and I worked in the bar whilst I was there. Those 5 weeks were probably the longest 5 weeks of my life as I felt very lonely out there. However, I did have something to keep me company - My ukulele!
Yes, I finally decided to learn to play another instrument that wasn't the piano. I picked up the chords for the ukulele surprisingly quickly and I spent my whole holiday learning songs and even writing a few of my own which helped to clear my head.
When I got back from my 5 weeks holiday, I started work. Yes, I went to work over the summer. I worked in at an accountancy firm in my home town. I was originally scheduled and paid to work for a month, however, they moved offices and needed me to stick around a little longer than a month in order to help them move. I worked on my birthday but I took a day off for results day.
Over this time, I also went to Summer in the City (SITC) for the first time ever with Payton and another friend of mine and honestly it was one of the best weekends! I got to meet two out of three of The Midnight Beast (TMB) who I'd loved since Year 7 and then I got to see TMB perform live. I also met Jedward and for anyone that knows me, they know I may have a small love for Jedward (Although I do my best to hide it). John and Edward were honestly two of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in my life.
After results day and finishing work finally, my dad came back to the UK, because, after trying for two years, him and my step mum had finally managed to sell our house in the UK. I travelled there to go and stay in my house one last time and honestly it was very emotional. I had grown up in  that house and everywhere I looked there was some kind of memory with someone. I also met the new owners of the house. They seemed lovely, They had two daughters and I couldn't help but cry realising what a wonderful childhood they would have in that house. I told their mum that that house was one of the best places you could hope to grow up in. I hope they don't change the house too much, I'd like to visit one day, just to see what they've done with the place.
After that emotional four days, I went back home to see my family, finished packing (which I had been doing progressively for over a month by this point) and I said goodbye to the friends who were still there. By this point, Payton had already gone to uni and so had Valerie and Ash, so it was just Bri, Belle, Summer and I. We went to the carnival funfair together and I got a little bit tearful saying goodbye.
It's now only a month till I'm back fro christmas and I'm super excited to see everybody again!
I hope you enjoyed this little update, I'm not even sure you care but it feels good to write down an document everything that's been happening in my life for the past three to four months. I hope to be back soon with an update or a review or something (now that I know how to write reviews properly).
Until Next Time

New member and 3000 veiws - Lollie

Hello internet!

It's Lollie here. Today, I would like to introduce you too our new member - Valerie.
About two months ago, before all of our exams started, our contributions to this blog started to fail miserably as we were all stressing out and having mild existential crisis'. We decided collectively who would be staying on as a member and who did not want to be part of this blog anymore. After much discussion, Maya decided she wouldn't be able to cope with posting weekly and keeping up with everything else.
After Maya decided to leave, the other six of us were sent into a long spiralling period of trying to find a new name as there no longer 7 of us. We had many ideas, some that not all of us agreed on and some that were already taken as domains and in the end, it was Maya who actually approached us with an idea - Why not ask Valerie?
Valerie will be posting on a Thursday, just as Maya used to and we hope that you welcome her to the blog!

On another note, we have reached 3000 views on the blog, which in my opinion is totally crazy! It is so strange to think that our posts have been viewed and read that many times by people from all over the world. Even people in Australia have read some of our posts which is mind blowing! Thank you to everyone that reads the stuff that we post.

So to round up this post, I hope you enjoy our new member and thank you once again for readin all our posts!

Until Next Time, Allons-!

Fitness, Fun, and Tears of the Young - Wednesday's Child

G r e e t i n g s  E a r t h l i n g s

Goood Wednesday, readers. Today is a mediocre day. (Which by my standards is pretty good, so let's just roll with that.)

This week, find out how I:

 - Finished season seven of House
 - Created a fitness schedule for myself
 - Had the show I was going to be in cancelled
 - After four weeks of rehearsal
 - Suffered the reappearance of my insomnia
 - Had my first cup of tea ever that I didn't spit out and throw up at
 - Gotten very fucking angry at my school for softcore transphobia (which I'll get to next week)

So yes, all in all it's been an exciting week filled with twists, turns and a couple of kick-you-in-the-crotch-fantastic letdowns. My show was cancelled as a similar show with the same title is actually currently running as a fringe production, (which our drama guy didn't actually realise when he wrote it for our group). So, due to legal issues, one of the only shows I've been excited about in this group has been cancelled. That kind of sucked.

Also my insomnia's back, which is making everything I try and do (including constructing coherent and witty sentences, do schoolwork, and generally muster the will to live) is made about 79% more difficult. Oh yeah, and that includes trying to get to sleep.

However

I did try my first cup of herbal tea, and it didn't totally suck. It was some leafy herbal infused shit that my mum bought a couple of months ago, (which we'd totally forgotten we even had), so to break in our new state of the art you-can-set-the-temperature-for-your-beverage kettle (which has recommended heat settings for different kinds of tea on the side) we each had a cup. I didn't spit mine straight out, which is always a good sign, so I figure if I can force myself to semi-enjoy this stuff, then maybe I can force myself to enjoy green tea, and experience it's magical properties for myself. I have been told that it's basically like giving speed to your metabolism and everything is processed through your body faster. Also this particular herbally-mystical leafy crap is supposed to have calming effects on the body and help you sleep (which sounds a little creepy but whatever.)

So, with those factoids out of the way (that's the 'fun' in my title done), on to the 'fitness' and 'tears of the young'.

Yes, 2015 is the year I decided to get hot. (That being said, thanks to some pictures from Maya, we can both say that puberty has done a pretty good job so far because she actually turned out pretty well and I only turned out kind of resembling an out of date potato.) But anyway. 2015. Me. Hot.

It's going to be a long, arduous journey, filled with me hating everything and everyone. But I swear to Jesus himself, come my eighteenth birthday, I am going to fucking slay like the firebreathing gorgeous dragon I am. In the meantime, to get to that get-the-fuck-outta-my-way stage, I'm going to have to do some exercise.

Now, this isn't entirely just so that I can be that intimidating hot girl at the bar who can just turn guys down because 'nah bruh', this is also because I'm 5'3 and I struggle to open some doors because I am, in fact, pathetic. Like, it's not even funny any more.

My areas of toning-concentration are my arms, back, abs, hips and butt. I have rock solid legs already for some unknown reason, as Lollie discovered a few months ago when she poked them, so I don't need to work on them, but I've looked up some leg exercises just for y'all to enjoy.

Arms

30 x full bicep curls
30 x reverse bridge dips
15 hi lo planks
15 x tricep extension each side
15 x push ups (or 30 x wall push ups)

Back/Shoulders

30 x overheard press
15 x one arm dumbbell row each side
15 x lateral raises each side
15 front raises

Abs

30 x sit ups
15 x oblique sit ups each side
30 second plank (every two days increase by ten seconds)
30 x mountain climbers

Hips (My personal hell)

30 second side plank each side (every two days increase by five seconds)
30 x hip dippers each side
30 x candle stick dippers each side

Butt

30 x squat
30 x donkey kick
30 x butt bridges
30 x fire hydrants

Legs

30 x forward lunges
15 x squat jumps
30 x jumping jacks
15 x side legs raises each side

Don't let these smiling faces deceive you. I'm on day three, my body feels like it's on fire and I'm regretting every single life decision that brought me here. Also, top tip, if this all seems like a fucking dumb idea, either half every exercise, or just don't do them and go get a pizza. That would 112% be the smarter option.

And if you're up for a jog, it's a very good all over body toner, but everything is painful and you have to go outside, which is bad.

Stay safe, stay (sort of) healthy, and as always,

I'm with you 'till the end of the line, folks ♥

Well this wasn't as planned... - Lollie

Hi It's me again! (Lollie... Incase you didn't know)
And as the title says - it's that time of week again. You should be lucky I named it that, it was going to be 'Crime-fighting, inter-species lesbian couple' or 'Sontaran Conversion'.
Why you ask? Well, ladies and gentleman, fellow Whovians everywhere - I have converted my sister to a who-loving, strax-adoring Whovian. All it took was one watch of 'Deep Breath' and 'Crimson Horror' and suddenly she was quoting The Doctor and particularly Strax, laughing and the funny bits and also drawing Madame Vastra! (This is the drawing she did for me, she's only 11 bless her)
Then she ask me to draw Madame Vastra:
Which then led to the download of multiple Vastra and Jenny pictures because come on - how can you not ship crime-fighting, inter-species, lesbian spouses consisting of a lizard women fro the dawn of time and a Victorian chamber maid from London with their pet potato who also happens to be an ex-leader of an iter-galactic Sontaran battle fleet who gets over excited at the use of weapons?
Anyway, I would pay a good amount of money to watch The Paternoster gang's spin-off tv show. I would love it! MOFFAT you need to do this.
They also need to come back in Series 9 of not, I will be very disappointed as I feel they should be in more episodes than they have been already.

Overall I just wanted to let you all know about this development and I hope you all had a good week and I hope you have an amazing week ahead I'll see you next Friday!

Until next time, Allons-y!

Media mis-leading our generation - Lollie

Hey guys, Lollie here. So, I was going through my laptop and I found a blog post I wrote for another blog that I had along time ago and I thought I would share it with you all.

The fabulous Marilyn Monroe, providing a wonderful quote.
Everyone makes mistakes and has flaws and if the people around you can't handle your worst, they definitely don't  deserve to have you at your best. Don't give your best to the people who can't appreciate that you make mistakes and sometimes things hurt you more than they should. Don't give your best to people who can't appreciate that you have imperfections.

We all have flaws and things that make us different to everyone else, but if we didn't have them, we wouldn't be us. These little things make us who we are and define us from everyone else.

So stop desperately trying to copy everyone else.

It may sound harsh but, there is no true image of perfection. The perfect human being does not exist. Although, we may think some people look 'perfect', this is just the media playing on teenagers in advertisements and TV shows portraying a negative image of 'perfection' and the qualities you need to have to be 'perfect'.

What I'm trying to say is - the medias portrayal of 'perfection' is false. There are many girls and guys out their who are beautiful and perfect in their own respect. One of the sweethearts, Bri, actually, did a speech in English in year 9 about the media's portrayal of the correct dress size and how many teenage girls who are in fact very skinny, still see themselves as fat because they don't fit the 'normal' girls they see on TV adverts and in magazines. It's the sad truth and I feel like it isn't addressed as often as it should be. Media focus so much on obesity and how that is a wide spreading problem but what about the amount of people that starve themselves just to be accepted, surely that's not right? Surely, it shouldn't be ignored.

The truth is, each one of you has individual qualities and features that allow you to be yourself - your're perfect the way you are.

You are your own version of perfect and you should accept who you are and the way you look. Confidence is one of the first steps to 'feeling perfect'.
I feel like you can never have an image of perfection. Perfection, to me, is a feeling. If you feel perfect the way you are then nothing else matters - if you don't feel perfect the way you are, don't look at others and compare yourself to them. Look at yourself. Look at all your flaws that make you, your own version of perfect.

So a summary of today's blog post:

- don't give people your best if they can't expect that you have flaws - you are human
- expect the flaws you have
- don't waste your time trying to be perfect - you're perfect all ready
- if you don't feel it, try and be more confident, make a list of everything you like about yourself, body and personality. Look at each one and write why you like this particular thing about you
- Bri gives incredibly speeches but probably shouldn't look at people when saying 'you're fat' as part of getting across what model agencies say to everyone (Inside joke guys)
- your imperfections make you who you are
- be more confident in who you are and stop trying to copy others
- The media's 'perfection' will never be as good as yours.

I hope you enjoyed reading today's post! I will be back again next Friday, with another. I'm sure time will fly past incredibly quickly, just like this last week has, I have no idea where it has gone. I'm looking forward to watching Waterloo Road and Broadchurch on Monday if I totally honest with you - Highlights of my week!

Until next time, Allons-y!

The life of Lollie - your Friday blogger

Hello everyone!

I'm Lollie and welcome to The Seven Sweethearts blog. By now, you will have had 5 people talking to you about what this blog is about... but just in case you still don't get it - we are The Seven Sweethearts and we will be posting a blog post each day full of thoughts, advice, reviews and much more about our day-to-day lives. I'll be posting to you all on Fridays which is good because Fridays, happen to be my favourite day of the week.

This Friday happens to be very good because we have now finished sixth form for Christmas! Yes, for us 7 it is officially the Christmas holidays and as always, I plan on sleeping, eating and having some Christmas fun with my family... Oh wait, hang on - I do A-Levels now. No break from work for me.

I take four subjects at A-Level: Performing Arts, Travel&Tourism, Business and Psychology and all of them are A LOT of work, they take up most of the free time I have.

When I'm not doing work, like Ash, I spend countless hours fangirling over people who don't know I exist (many boy bands, actors and youtubers). I also spend any free time I have watching Doctor Who. A little fact about me: I have all 8 series of New Who (Whovians understand) on DVD. I love it that much, so expect some Who-related posts on my days (There will definitely be a post on boxing day about the Christmas special). I think there is a small nerd inside me somewhere...

Facts about me:
- I'm a Whovian
- I've been too more concerts than I have fingers and toes... I think
- You can't see my walls because I have too many posters at the moment
- I love baths
- My biggest fear is Feet... I have a fear of feet, yes
- There's something about spiritual things and anything different that I'm attracted to
- I study Wicca - Google it
- I live and breathe quotes from movies and TV series - if there is an opportunity to quote Doctor Who, I will, even if no one around me at the time understands
- In this group of seven I'm probably classed as the crazy one
- I like reminiscing in the past
- I Freaking love Disney
- I sometimes watch Anime
- I like to write fanfics and stories from time to time

Posts
- Reviews
- Lollie's brain (My thoughts and feelings on anything and everything)
