Let's Talk About: Eurovision 2015

Hello Earthlings, how goes it?

It's Eurovision this weekend. This year it will be held in Austria.

Eurovision is a big old singing contest between all the countries in Europe. This year is the 60th anniversary. Votes are cast in each country by a point system. Voting is done via everyone in the country using TV or SMS voting to decide which song wins your countries 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 points. 5 members of  Jury from your country also vote.

Eurovision is a family thing for me. I've always associated it with cramming onto the sofa in the front room to watch. I thought I would share my views on this years song entries (Ones that have been released so far, as the last semi-finals are tomorrow night).

(Video used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGH_HzsNcPM ) Watching along with my commentary is recommend as it will help you to understand the comments about the videos themselves.

F.Y.R Macedonia - Daniel Kajmakoski with Lisja Esenski

Firstly, I didn't actually know this was a country. Secondly, he's singing in his own language which is always a disappointment as I'd quite like to understand the song because it sounds quite catchy.

Malta - Amber with Warrior

Blimey. She has one powerful voice! It's also in English! Wonderful!! I would probably count on this one being a high ranking contender on Saturday.

The Netherlands - Trijntje Oosterhuis with Walk Along

Another female with a powerful voice and a powerful song and in English - oh I just love it when they do that. It looks as though she has won The Netherlands version of The Voice or performed on it or something? I'm not entirely sure.

Belarus - Uzari & Maimuna with Time

I love this video! It's very effective and the guy isn't too bad looking either. I'm looking forward to how they stage this one on the night as in the video the girl is in an hour glass that is filling up, playing the violin, it would be really cool if they could do something like that on stage!

Georgia - Nina Sublatti with Warrior

Hang on... that's the same song name as Malta? This isn't going to cause problems is it? I do like Nina's makeup and hair in the video though and it has a sort of underlying chinese theme too it, kind of like Mulan. Good lyrics too 'I've been an angel for too long'

France - Lisa Angell with Nóubliez pas

Last year, France entered with a song about Moustaches so, this is an improvement, although, not much of one... I probably don't like it because again, despite achieving a grade C in French and GCSE, I am unable to understand the lyrics and with a song, the lyrics are one of the most important things for me. Lisa does have a fantastic voice though!

Switzerland - Melanie Rene with Time To Shine

This has a secret woman empowerment, warrior theme too it too, I like it! It's in English as well. Melanie is also very pretty and has fantastic voice. There is a horse in this video so someone please, please, please allow a horse on the stage Saturday? Pretty please?

Cyprus - Giannis Karagiannis with One Thing I Should have Done

English? yup. It sounds really sweet as well, sort of a love song I imagine. The guy singing it has a little waist coat on bless him.

Denmark - Anti Social Media with The Way You Are

Thumbs up for the awesome band name! Oh my god I love this a lot. It's quite old school and I like that. Denmark, I think you've got a good one here!

Iceland - Maria Olafsdottir with Unbroken

One, she can sing. Two, her surname has Olaf in it so she wins at life. Three, it's really catchy and sounds very suitable for Eurovision. I think this could also be a high ranking song this year.

Serbia - Bojana Stamenov with Ceo Svet Je Moj

I can't understand a word of this but this woman has a wonderful voice. She's also a plus-sized lady which, thank you Serbia for putting a talented plus-sized woman in this competition. Bojana is wearing a lovely colourful dress in this clip and I'm excited to see what she will wear on Saturday.

Italy - Il Volo with Grande Amore

If my tiny knowledge of Italian is correct, the title means 'big love' or 'love big', right? The video is showing two people making a pottery thing, kind of like in ghost except a real guy rather than a ghost one, there's a guy being a gentle man helping a woman up from the floor and oh my god it's Spiderman. Oh, Il Volo aren't that bad looking either, the one on the far right looks like Ricky Dillion's doppelganger though. The song isn't in English but, with a language as beautiful as Italian - does it need to be?

Lithunaia - Monika Linkyte and Viadas Baumil with This Time

Oh, okay, they are kissing and the clip just started. I like the song though, very bouncy, English. Oh gosh, I really like it. This is think could be a high contender also.

Estonia - Elina Born and Stig Rasta with Goodbye to Yesterday

Another duet! Yay! This clip is in black and white and it looks very 50's and I also like the song, it's vintage (I'm not great at describing music if you can't tell by now).

Lativa - Aminata with Love Injected

Yes Lativa! This is good! The lead singer has yet again, a very powerful voice and this song almost has a slight rocky tone to it which I love. Also, another song in English.

Ireland - Molly Sterling with Playing With Numbers

Well done Ireland, you brought someone else from your country other than Jedward - finally. It's a love song and I think I might have heard it on the radio before once or twice? I recognise it.

Slovenia - Maraaya with Here For You

English. Love her hair! Her voice sounds a little bit like Paloma Faith at times which I also love and her dress is beautiful. Not sure why she is wearing the headphones though? Sorry Maraaya, hunnie, they don't go with your dress.

Finland - Pertti Kuikan Nimipalvat with Aina Mun Pitaa

This is rock music. 100% Finnish rock music, sung by an old guy group. The one singing seems to be rocking back and forward. I am dying to see how this group do on stage on Saturday. (Update: Apparently, they have been knocked out of the competition so they won't be performing at the final

Moldova - Eduard Romanyuta with I Want Your Love

nope nope nope nope. I am upset with this country as they did not put Kitty Brucknell with Remix through to sing for them. They put a guy who looks like his mum dressed him in the 80's in instead. He also needs a haircut and I must point out he is acting miming the words.

Hungary - Boggie with Wars For Nothing

Aw, this is quite a sad song. It's good though. There five in Boggie - three girls and two guys and they all sing so well together.

Spain - Edurne with Amanecer

Hola Spain! Even though there is no English in this song, like Italian, this language is beautiful to sing in without the English language. There is a tiger in the video, and a volcano so I'm not too sure what's going on there.

Albania - Elhaida Dani with I'm Alive

So many women with such powerful voices this year, making so many good contenders. The video is a bit strange, everyone is crying one tear. It's a catchy song though and gets you dancing.

Greece - Maria-Eleni Kyriacou with One Last Breath

There's confetti and a red dress oh, very dramatic. This is a good song Greece. Very powerful, I think I'd say it was a strong contender also.

Germany - Ann Sophie with Black Smoke

Another black and white thing going on here. Another female singer with an amazing voice that could literally blow you away if used at the correct moment. Not sure if I'm liking the tassels on her earrings and blazer though. The earring look like Pac-man gone wrong.

United Kingdom - Electro Velvet with Still In Love With You

What did I just watch? Hello, own country, how you doing. This isn't too bad if I'm honest, compared to other years (I'm looking at you Engelbert Humapdink and Scooch). There's a lot of UV paint in the video but, the song is Jazzy! It's good, I like it, except, I don't think, that when I look at this compared to other entries, that this will rank high.

Portugal - Leonor Andrade with Ha um mar que nos separa

Leonor looks scary and like she's about to eat the microphone in this video. Also, her hair needs brushing but, vocal wise, she isn't too bad. It would be great if maybe she was singing in English, I'd love to understand the words she is singing as the song sounds great!

Romania - Voltaj with De la capat

This is a sweet song and the video is even sweeter. It's about children and how they are effected by their parents going away to work abroad to make a better life for their children. The full version of this video effected me and actually brought a tear to my eye. It's beautiful.

Czech Republic - Marta Jandova and Vaclav Noid Barta with Hope Never Dies

This is a good song and video actually. They guy has a great voice and I really like it. Their voices work really well with each other.

Poland - Monika Kuszynska with In The Name Of Love

There are old photos flashing across my screen which I assume they are pictures of the singer, I'm not sure. I don't particularly like this song that much, not sure why, it just didn't click for me. Perhaps it will sit better in my mind when performed on stage?

Belgium - Loic Nottet with Rhythm Inside

I like this. The tune is catchy, bouncy and dancable. Oh my gosh the video ahs some kind of steampunk element and the guy is quite attractive. There a lot of red paint and I'm a bit confused.

Armenia - Genealogy with Face The Shadow

I like this! I wanted it to be good from the title and it did not disappoint. This is another one that I think could be a high contender.

Israel - Nadav Guedj with Golden Boy

This just reminds me of being on holiday in Northern Cyprus and being sat in a restaurant with Turkish music playing and for that reason I love it. I'm looking forward to seeing this one on the stage too.

Austria - The Makemakers  with I Am Yours

Whoever you are, I'm not sure you can beat Conchita. Oh wait, never mind. I like this, the song and the people singing it. Perhaps you're not a bad replacement after all.

Sweden - Mans Zelmerlow with Heros

I'm not sure if I like this...

Norway - Morland and Debrah Scarlett with A monster like me

I like this. The video has lot of throwing things - food and flowers etc. Their voices work well together as well which makes the song even better. It's one of the slower songs in the competition.

Azerbaijan - Elnur Huseynov with Hour Of The Wolf

I can never say this country's name, not sure why, it take me a few attempts or one attempt at saying it rather slowly. Well... holy cheese balls this guy can sing! One of the top contenders for the top ten this year. I called it. Possibly 1st place worthy.

San Marino - Anita Simoncini and Michele Perniola with Chain Of Lights

I did not know San Marino was in Europe (B grade GCSE Geography student here guys). That being said, I don't even like this song. Sorry San Marino

Russia  - Polina Gagarina with A Million Voices

This sounds familiar... The woman singing it looks familiar too. This song I think could be another high contender in this year's Eurovision.

Australia - Guy Sebastian with Tonight Again

Okay so I had to check that I wasn't going crazy when I saw this because, even though I may be bad at knowing where places are, I do know that Australia is 100% not in Europe. I had to ask my mum for conformation and she said that a couple of years ago they got aloud entry into the show. They have a good song though.

Montenegro - KNEZ with Adio

Oh. It's a country (Oh dear) I just thought I was a bar in my dad's village in Northern Cyprus. I got told it translates as black mountains. Anywhoo, I don't like the song, sorry Montenegro.

Right, now that we have cleared that up, I'm off to watch my weekly dose of Newzoids and then, I'm going to watch the newest addition of Dil (DanAndPhilGames).

Until Next Time - Allons-y!

Would you rather...? By Summer

Hi, it's me again~ Summer!

So this week is going to be based on another question post just to try and get myself back in the swing of the blog writing thing again. So here go's...

1) Would you rather go about your normal day naked or fall asleep for a year?
I would rather go about my normal day naked as once upon a time people did used to go around naked, it was not shamed upon and it was normal in that era. So why not again now!!

2) Would you rather be gossiped about or never talked about at all?
I would rather be gossiped about, at least someone is thinking about me~ I must be very important gossip.

3) Would you rather be hairy all over or completely bald?
Hairy all over, we were apes once, right??

4) Would you rather be happy and poor or sad and rich?
I would rather be happy and poor, money cannot buy you happiness.

5) Would you rather be invisible or be able to read minds?
I would rather be invisible, that way you can hear into other peoples conversations and know what they are going to do and what they have been thinking. It's the best of both worlds really, aha.

6) Would you rather be rich and ugly, or poor and good-looking?
I would rather be rich and ugly- looks arent everything, personality should count the most. Plus this way I could help the the people who chose poor and good-looking not to be poor anymore.

7) Would you rather be stranded on an island alone or with someone you hate?
I would rather be stranded with someone this way you can sort out the beef and not end up talking to a rock.

8) Would you rather eat poison ivy or a handful of bumblebees?
I would rather eat poison ivy, at least I'm not killing animals.

9) Would you rather end hunger or hatred?
I would rather end hatred, hopefully then this way people could have the decency to help the starving and homeless, instead of watching them suffer.

10) Would you rather find true love or 10 million dollars?
True love, but you can't find it, it comes to you. Plus I don't live in America, so dollars aren't really that useful to me.

Sorry this is a short post, I just felt like if I did anymore questions both mine and yours heads would explode. A new post will be up soon, bye guys.

Love Summer xxxx

P.S. I left the link below so you can have a go yourself if you want.
P.P.S. There are many more questions that I didn't even attempt on this webpage.

Bye!! <3

Random questions by Summer

Hi guys, It' Summer here! So its a long time since I last posted. You can blame AS level exams for that one! Revision has been a big element of my life recently, along with work, so I have literally had no time at all to post- and any time I haven't been revising I've been sleeping!

For this post I am going to do a random question post, just to get back into the Blog thing again (I promise, my posts will get better!)

1) What would be harder for you, to tell someone you love them or that you do not love them back?
This is a hard one, I think that would depend on whether I had liked the person before or not. Although, saying that I do believe that personally saying that I do not like someone back is so much harder as I hate hurting peoples feelings (not to say that I haven't done it). I think that telling someone you love them shouldn't be thought out, it should just happen- it should slip out accidentally if it is real love.

2) What do you think would be the hardest thing for you to give up on?
For me, I'm going to be really cheesy and say love. I went through what was a hard break-up for me with my ex. I didn't want to give up as I really saw potential to grow there but he just had his mind set, so trying to convince him was like trying to feed a vegetarian meat!!

3) Would you give a homeless person CPR if they were dying?
Of course I would!! I'm training to be a Lifeguard right now actually, I'm on my 5th year of training. A life is a life! Save it!

4) What makes you bored?
Boring personalities (dull people) and coursework!!!

5) Which is your favourite four legged creature and why?
A Meerkat! Why...? Hmmm, it just always has been since I visited a zoo for the first time...

6) Do you like spicy food?
Hell no!!! Feed me spicy food and I will kill you!!

7) Are you old fashioned?
I loveeee older era clothes! 1950's!! I love, I think I sort of am, I would go back in time if I could.

8) Something or someone you miss the most from childhood?
The good episodes of the Tweenies...

9) Are you usually late, early or right on time?
Late.... Fashionably late of course.

10) Are you happy with your life for the most part right now?
Yes, I have no dicks in my life right now and I love everyone I have around me and the support I get is fantastic!

11) You can have one of the following two things: trust/ love?
Trust- I would rather have trust in everyone rather than love. I believe that trust is more important and for love to work there should be trust incorporated in it anyway.

12) Tell me about your favourite book, magazine or comic?
I don't really have the time to read at the minute, although I did start to read two books a while ago: Divergent by Veronica Roth and Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo.

13) Tell me about someone you envy?
I'm not envious of anyone in particular, just people that get everything given to them whenever they want it.

14) Tell me about something you've achieved?
Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award. Doing Gold now.

15) Tell me about the worst punishment you had when you were a child?
I had my toys taken away- all of the time. Nowadays young kids have phones instead of toys...

16) Do you like chocolate?
What sort of question is this??? Is this question for a human!?!? Who doesn't like chocolate?

17) Do you like rainy days or snowy winter days more?
It honestly depends on my mood. If I'm grumpy I suggest you just leave me alone and presume I don't like any weather.

18) Name 3 things in nature you find most beautiful.
Open air (fields), butterflies and flowers.

19) Which are your 2 favourite careers and why?
Fashion designer and interior designer.

20) Which is the hardest thing you ever had to do?
Leave my family for 4 weeks whilst I went to Ecuador to help the less fortunate.

21) When was the last time you lied and to whom and why?
Last night, to my friend. I told him I only just got back from work when I had been back for 45 minutes...

22) Tell me about something you really regret?
Decisions I made a while ago on holiday to do with two people I liked.

23) What scares you the most and why?
Horror movies/ programmes... The suspense and idea of objects scaring you rather than actors. What's not there scares me more than what's there.

24) What do you do in your free time?
That depends, I don't have much free time at the minute because of exams. To sooth me and calm me I do colouring to relax myself. I like watching films as well.

25) Which is your favourite part of the human face and why?
Eyes... they can seduce the hell out of you!!!

26) Which is your favourite part of the human body and why?
Girls: Legs... I think that legs can be a powerful tool, but only on girls.
Boys: Arms... But they have to be muscly!

27) Tell me about a mistake you made?
There are too many... haha

28) If you could do anything OR wish for anything that would come true, what would you wish?
People to act their age, not their shoe size, ha.

29) What's your middle name?
Beth.

30) How big is your bed?
Double!

31) What music are you listening to right now?
Tyler Oakley's playlist on Spotify- XXX 88 by MO

32) What are the last 4 digits of your phone number?
4343

33) What was the last thing you ate?
Homemade pasta- by ME! Shell pasta, cooked onions, peppers, mushrooms mixed with a Carbonara sauce.

34) Tell me about your favourite music/ song/ band.
My favourite band is The Script. My favourite artist is Olly Murs (I'm an Essex girl like him and my nan is friends with his mum too).

35) Tell me about something you would happily do again?
I would love to go to Ecuador again and help out there and volunteer, either alone or with a friend or someone close to me (someone like Lollie- we never argue).

36) Name your 5 favourite foods?
-Sgt Peppers ribs and chips
-Pizza
-Pasta
-Fajita's
-Chocolate

37) Do you like to shop?
YES! Who doesn't!!!

38) How often do you go online?
Too much...

39) Tell me about someone you really admire.
Marilyn Monroe and Alexander McQueen.

40) Do you have any pets?
Yes, one pet- a dog, he's called Slinky.

That's all from me for now, sorry it's been so long again guys! I'll be back again soon! Bye :)

The characteristics of a Leo - Lollie

Hello Earthlings!
I'm a big one for astrology. I'm a Leo and all these horoscopes floating about on the internet expect me to be full of certain characteristics, so... I thought I'd have a look and then see if I fit into them.

Leo Strength Keywords:
- Confident
In some ways I'd say I am but in others I'm not so confident. Talking to people I don't know in person, over the phone, at an interview, in the street or meeting them for the first time scares me to death and I am far from confident when it comes to this. I have not always been confident, it's something I've had to work on and something I am still working on. Confidence also comes with the company you keep. I believe that my friends I have have contributed to my growth in confidence over the past few years.
- Ambitious
I'm very ambitious and I will always aim to do the impossible. My head is always full of big ideas and things that in theory, would be impossible for me to complete, however, I do try my hardest to get the closet alternative option
- Generous
Am I generous? let me ask Summer (she's sitting next to me). "Am I generous?" I ask "Of course you are," She replies, "You always give me food"... that settles it then.
- Loyal
Let me ask her again "Am I loyal?" she nods and replies, "Of course you are, we've been friends since year 8" That's true, I have had most of my friends for 6 years now and I stick by them whenever I can.
- Encouraging
I am very encouraging and try to encourage people positively whenever I can and try and keep them on the right path. Summer has compared me to the angel on her shoulder a few times.

Leo Weakness Keywords:
- Pretentious
I do try t sound more intelligent than I am as I hate it when I look stupid in front of people. I get embarrassed if I make a fool of myself so I've adopted to learning bigger words in order to hold an semi-intellectual conversation.
- Domineering
I can be very... strong-willed sometimes but I wouldn't call it domineering. I am far from domineering as some will tell you. I will do anything to keep the people I love happy. I can be quite bossy but I don't think that's down to my star sign, I think it's more how I was brought up.
- Melodramatic
Guilty as heck. Ask anyone of the sweethearts I am the most melodramatic person there is (see I'm even being melodramatic now). I'm very over the top and if I'm in the slightest bit of pain I will not hesitate to make it known. I think I'm as dramatic as I am due to being a performing arts kid.
- Stubborn
Oh yes. If someone tells me to go to bed because I'll be tired, I will insist I'm fine and I won't go to bed, even though I'm actually falling asleep. I can't stand being wrong and when I am, I don't like to admit it. I also, sometimes struggle to change my view point on something and will not be able to comprehend why someone doesn't share my view point.
- Vain
No. I am not vain. In the past I have been very unhappy about how I look and I've always been very self conscious about my weight as I am a little bit bigger than your average girl. I hardly ever take selfies because I struggle to get a good angle and I don't look in the mirror a lot. I don't wear makeup often, that's not because I'm vain it's because I simply cannot be bothered to apply it and then take it off later, plus, I don't mind the freckles on my face so I don't want to cover them up with foundation.

Leo and Independence:
Leo is very independent but they need something to control and someone to admire them and appreciate them. They are fully capable of being greatly successful on their own but they are much happier if they have an audience and a following of people who look up to them. They would prefer not be alone.

Independent? I would be nothing without other people within my life. Sometimes though, it's better if I am left to my own devices. I want to show my mum I can be independent and lately she's been letting me show it more, seeing as I am almost 17. It's nice to have someone appreciate me, yes but I don't want a following. I would prefer not to be alone, I love spending time with my  friends, it's one of the best ways for me to relax.
Leo and Friendship:
People are attracted to Leo's zest for life and their warm spirit. They have the ability to lift up one's spirits and provide encouragement when times are rough. Their enthusiasm attracts people, Leos are social butterflies, not because they want to be but because people always naturally gravitate and surround the Leo. Leos are very difficult people to not like, they are usually fairly balanced, realistic people. They never dwell on the past and they will think you are strange if you do. Some Leos might be too caught up in themselves and be very self-centred but they are never too self-absorbed to help anyone who needs it. They pamper their friends and treat them well. A Leo is the ultimate friend. They do not hold a grudge and they are very forgiving. They have respect and understanding of people's differences.

My 'zest for life'... well, I think life is a bitch and needs to stop hitting me with hard blows but then I suppose that's just being a teenager. I am very enthusiastic towards lots of things but social? nope. I hate being social with anyone other than those that I know. I get terrified about having to attend a family meal where cousins who I haven't spoken to in years are present. Well, apparently me being a Leo means I'm well liked. I am very realistic and say it how it is but I also try to make the person see the other side of the story. I don't think I'm self-centred. I would go above and beyond to help my friends out with something. I'm all about 'forgiveness and shit' ( a phrase used by someone I once knew well, but whom was one of the rare people who did not win my forgiveness). I can't hold a grudge to save my life unless the person has done something unspeakable to be or a friend or family member -  I can think of a few people I have grudges on. I respect everybody's point of view expect sometimes I don't agree with them.
Leo Temperament:
Leo loves the new and extraordinary, they despise dull, regular routines and if this is what they are faced with, they will simply create their own drama and excitement. This makes Leo prone to stir up a situation out of nowhere just for something to keep their vivacious temperament satisfied. Leo has an amazing ability to bounce back from any feelings of despair or unfortunate events. They do not like to be unhappy, it hurts their pride so they will take matters into their own hands and make things right again. Leos could come into conflict with other powerhouse type of people who will not take orders and not give an inch, Leos will not budge their opinion, they will understand and accept opinions of others but they do not take well to people to try to impose their beliefs on them. Leo most often have the temperament of a demanding, spoiled child but this is only shown if someone steps on the boundaries of their kingdom. They react this way because of their territoriality.

I have a love for things that are different - Religions founded on the basis of magic, people who's brains work in a more murder-centred way, androids and holo-glasses with promises of a holographic future. I hate dull things yes, boring everyday routines like, get up, eat, school, work, chips, tv, sleep. This is why I'd do anything for The Doctor to whisk me away from chips and telly and take me someplace far away. I do not create drama because my life feels dull. I hate creating drama, it causes unnecessary tension that I could do without if I'm honest. I hate being unhappy but seriously, does anyone like it? no, not really. If I've been feeling down, I'll try and cheer myself up as soon as I can because the feeling of unhappiness is one I know all too well and one that I don't want to be stuck with for a long duration. As I explained earlier, I will understand and accept those opinions that others had but if someone dare try to shove their opinion down my throat, then I'd have a problem. I hate people who try to do that even when I've said I understand and accept it but won't change my views. Demanding, spoiled little child? I' m sorry, you're clearly talking about the wrong person here. I don't feel like I act spoilt at all. I appreciate everything I have been given and everything  have.
Leo Deep Inside:
Leos are extremely sensitive but they hide that very well. Leos love praise and flattery, their egos demand respect and adoration. Leo is all about pride. This can cause them to be self-centred but the warmth of the Leo heart keeps it under control. If Leo's audience (otherwise known as their friends) do not provide the needed appreciation, Leo is too proud to ask for it and they will suffer a hurt ego, but no one will ever know and they will suffer in silence. The secret of the Leo is that they need to be needed.

I'm not as thick skinned as I appear to be and negative comments have quite a long lasting effect on me. If you've said something nasty to me or about me, I won't ever forget it. I might forgive you but I don't forget - ever. The sad truth of me being under this star sign is I 'long or need to be needed'. I don't really know what to say, but, I suppose it is nice to know I have friends who rely on me and I will be there when they need me.
Leo in a Nutshell:
Leo is the lion, this well suited symbol represents Leo very well. They possess a kingdom which they protest and cherish. The are high esteemed, honorable and very devoted to themselves in particular! The kingdom could be anything from work to home to a partner, whatever it is, you rule it. Leo is always center stage and full of flair, they enjoy basking in the spotlight. A Leo always makes their presence known. Leo are full of energy that acts like a magnet for other people. Others are attracted to Leo's wit, charm, and what they have to say for they speak of things grand and very interesting. Leo will never settle for second best. They want only the best which can cause lavish excessive spending habits as they enjoy their life of luxury, which is all to easily justified by the grand and magnificent Leo! Public image is very important to Leo, with luxurious possessions and ways of life, this keeps the public image in high standing. They will do whatever it takes to protect their own reputation. Leos are very generous, kind and openhearted people. If a Leo is crossed, they will strike back with force but they are not one to hold a grudge, they easily forgive, forget and move on. Leos are always trying to make things right in the world, they have larger then life emotions and they need to feel like they have accomplished something at the end of the day. They react to situations with action instead of sitting back and thinking about it, they are not impulsive however because they look at the future and consider consequences of their actions.

Where's my kingdom? If I possess a kingdom does that make me a queen? I am not devoted to myself for christ sakes! If I run a kingdom, I must be honourable to those in it and I assume that would be my friends. I do make me presence known sometimes, other times, blending into the background is okay too. I hate being put second best to someone because it really makes me feel like I'm not good enough. I don't have a reputation to keep. I don't 'lavish' in riches and a lovely lifestyle and if I do I don't show it off. I will be kind to people who deserve my kindness and sometimes to people who don't. Never get on the wrong side of me because you will regret it. Ask any of my friends, I hate arguing because I just want everything to be peaceful and right and I try to do that within my friendship group as I feel it's my job to keep everybody together.

Leo Love, Sex and Relationships
What it's like to date a Leo Woman:
The first step is to give her praise and adoration. The relationship will never work if she does not receive this from you. Do not look at other women when you are with her, she has to be the only one in your eyes. The thought of competition with other women completely turns her off, for she is marvelous and grand and better then any other woman (in her eyes)! Be prepared however to compete with other men. She attracts men, deliberately or not, because of her dazzling personality. She makes a good partner because she gives undying affection and love and makes you feel really mood about yourself. She is kind and supportive with an adventurous streak, she is always fun to be with. Leo woman will dominate,. But not completely for she still needs the man to lead the way and give her the desired sense of approval, she looks up to her man. Leo woman is perfect for the man who is affectionate and has a strong character but not too controlling. She needs someone who is passionate about everything in their life and who strives for the best in everything, because so does she.

I don't want to be adored I just wanted to be loved! I am incredibly jealous and will start to have second thoughts about someone if I think they are flirting with another girl. I hate being a jealous person. I do not attract men. I get about as much attention as a white crayon, so that, horoscope thingy, is bullshit. I am not domineering for crying out loud. In a relationship, I would hate to be in control, I feel like that is the man's job to lead me and I will look up to him for protection.
How To Attract Leo:
Admiration is key. Admire them ands they will be yours. Leo is a fairly easy sign to attract they are very receptive to advances and come ons. Give them compliments, dish them out in handfuls because Leos never think a compliment can go too far. Even if you are faking it, they don't care, the simply love the attention. Be funny, Leos love to be entertained and they love to laugh. If you can make them laugh, you're good! Leos like the grand things in life, treat them to a lavish dinner or a cultural upscale event. Always have the best of the best and never try to offer them second rate. They think nothing is too good for them, they like everything posh so dress classy and nice, and have a good night on the town with the charming Leo!

Don't admire me please. I hate being complimented because I don't know how to take it. I just go 'um, thanks'  really awkwardly because I almost feel like they aren't meant for me. I love a funny guy. If he can have my laughing for hours, he's good. No. A starlight picnic is enough for me. You don't need a fancy dinner or posh clothes to win me over.
Sex With Leo:
First impressions would tell you that Leo is all about the kinky and novelty, but that is not so. They are deeply sensual and passionate and enjoy posh surroundings, such as candles and scented oils and lots of affectionate physical contact such as massages and rubbing. They like sex to be familiar, not necessarily routine, but they like to know what's going on. This is because Leo always has to be the best and if there is a suggestion or something offered that they have never done before, they would rather pass on the chance then attempt it and be only satisfactory. Leo has mastered the moves he know, so do not be disappointed with the lack of novelty and variety, because Leo is very good at what they can do, they are the best.
So apparently I'm not kinky I'm sensual and passionate. I hate oils, they are too oily. There is nothing sexy about oils. I have no idea about this section as I kind of can't speak from any experience at all. I don't really know who to respond to the rest of this category so perhaps I should end it here.

If you read your horoscope and following what your star sign says you should be, just remember - it's a guideline. The date and month you were born should not pre-determine who you are, your personality, what job suits you best or anything. Only you should determine that for yourself. Most horoscopes are worded in a certain way which makes them appealing and generalisable for most people. I could probably analyse another star sign and find that most of the personality traits that a person under this star sign should have, I have also.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and once again, you got to know me a little better. I like doing astrological posts and ones about occult, taboo or mystical things because they are so interesting to research and write about. Have a good weekend. I know it's Thursday and perhaps I'll post tomorrow as well, who knows. I have plenty of draft posts waiting to be developed...

Let's talk about: Persona Synthetics - Lollie

'Experience the new generation Synthetic Human from Persona Synthetics. Not just an appliance but a deeply personal lifestyle choice: your Synth is the help you've always wanted.
Person Synthetics - Closer to humans than ever before'

People watching a bit of Monday night TV were in for a bit of a confusion when an advert promoting 'Synth' humans for your every household needs was displayed. Have the government been hiding this interesting development in modern technology? Would we be able to purchase one? Has our technology really gone that far?
The answer to all the above questions is no. Persona Synthetics is a brand name from Channel 4's new TV show 'Humans', a show based on an alternative reality to ours in which technology is far advanced and almost everybody owns a 'Synth' from this company.
I have to admit Channel four - this is very good marketing. In London's Regent Street the 'first persona synethics store' is said to be 'opening soon' and this company even has a Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and a website.
There is even a eBay shop in which you can get your hands on an android synth for 20,000 GBP!

The website described the features of each 'Synth' Explaining that they come available in either two models - Sally or Charlie.

Sally is the girl model of the Synthetic human.
This description says she is able to cook, look after your children and be a personal trainer. The advert in which was seen on TV contains a 'Sally' model. The advert shows her doing many things like cooking, cleaning, washing, playing with the children and even teaching the children. Her core processor has numbers that make me look at my IOS8 and laugh. Her processor is far advanced than any smart phone.

The other model is 'Charlie'. He serves the same functions as the 'Sally' model and boosts the same high-tech core processor. This model is available for those who feel they'd rather have a manly figure as a Synth and as the website says, he is the help you have always wanted.

Both Synth models are extremely life-like and both sport green eyes.

Sally and Charlie are part of a new generation of models from the Persona Synthetics company and come equip with all these new things:

I wish my phone had all day battery life...

Down below in small print is the affirmation that the company will not be held responsible for any Synths that haven't received a firmware update and if they haven't they must require a factory reset in order to stop them malfunctioning.
Here is the video of 'Sally' in action:

Could this be on the horizon in our future? Could we see human androids such as Sally and Charlie dominating our homes and jobs?
All this marketing is amazing and is on such a wide, well-thought out scale that I really hope the show is going to blow me away. It doesn't air till June, however, saying that, June is only 2 weeks away from now. I'm looking forward to the lead up to the start of the series and I'm also looking forward to seeing what new content this 'company' and Channel 4 bring out till then.

Right... I'm off to go buy myself a 'Charlie' from eBay.

Until Next Time - Allons-y!

Compliments (And why the 'Selfie Generation' ain't all that bad) - Wednesday's Child

G r e e t i n g s  E a r t h l i n g s

Whut up.

First of all, I know I said I wasn't going to update for another two weeks, until my exams were over. But second of all, I'm a big fat liar. Third of all, something has come to my attention.

Alrighty.

I'm a teenager. I'm also a girl. I love red lipstick, pencil the arches into my eyebrows, and wear copious amounts of eyeliner. I wear foundation to cover my red cheeks, and throw a bitchfit when it does nothing but cover my freckles. And you know what? If I feel cute, I'm gonna take a God-Damn selfie.

(This is probably a let's get angry about but whatever.)

(This is also gonna get kinda deep on a personal level which I've done like maybe four times before in my life so bare with me.)

I've struggled with cripplingly low self-esteem for... Oooh... Let's say since I learned what "pretty" was. Which was when I was like... Four. I've never felt particularly pretty, or conventionally attractive in any way. Which is probably because I'm not conventionally attractive. (For a point of reference on the impossibly high standards I set myself to, I'd put the totally fantastic (both inside and out) Jessica Alba up there.) I've got wonky teeth, I'm pale, short and have ludicrously red cheeks all the time. I've grown up feeling awkward, overweight and unattractive. My self esteem and self confidence have only started picking up (mildly) in the past couple of months. (You can actually track it - it's gone from like 1 selfie every three months to 7 in a month.)

I'm not unique. I'm growing up in a generation where girls are told that being attractive means being skinny and fit and going to the gym every day and eating kale and greens. I'll admit, this is a hell of a lot better than the heroin chic aesthetic of the 90's, as this is actually healthy, but when you're someone with self-esteem three feet lower than rock bottom, and 'healthy' is automatically associated with skinny, the perspective of going to a gym with twenty Hemsworth-esque types is overly daunting.

I'm in a society of teenage girls where we're plagued with not being good enough. Not living up to the photoshopped, makeup-ed expectations of the best and the most beautiful of Hollywood.

But that's not the worst part of this. The worst part is that the expectation is never absolute. Society wants us to be pretty, but calls us shallow when we obsess over our eyebrows, and feel sick after seeing the scale tick up one more notch. Society wants us to be smart, but mocks us when we turn up to class yawning, with dark, sleepless circles under our eyes and our hair unbrushed from a night of studying. Society wants us to be party girls, sexy and promiscuous, but when we get drunk they tut and turn away quietly. They want us to be meek and modest, but when we stay virgins they laugh and call us prude. And all of this is contributing to a damaging psyche. A psyche that says "whatever you do it's not going to be right, so don't do anything at all."

One of the more disgusting and ludicrous ideas that are expected of girls, is that they've got to be modest. We've got to deny compliments and say "Oh no, I'm really not, but thank you." We've got to stop taking pictures of ourselves, because that's obviously a deep, dark sin for which we're going to burn in the depths of Hell for.

Cus apparently, accepting compliments, and going "Thanks!" And feeling good about yourself is basically akin to crawling into bed with Satan himself. It's the mentality that keeps girls from feeling good about themselves. It's the mentality that prompts the response, "Oh, I'm really not." It's the mentality that still stops me from accepting a compliment, whether it be on my hair, my makeup, my face or even my clothes without twisting awkwardly and wanting to crawl into a hole.

And then there's selfies.

You know who says selfies are bad? Crusty old men who hit their prime in 1854 and are just looking for someone to bitch at and inflict pain on. Just because you're old and miserable, doesn't mean you have to suck the fun out of my life too.

Of course, the argument against selfies is "it's making girls too vain!" "they just care about their appearance!" "they'll stop paying attention in school!"

Because obviously a person's intelligence is directly linked to how attractive/unattractive they are.

I'm gonna share a little thing with y'all. I've got two things that I want to do with my life. I either want to be an actress, or a political consultant. And lemme tell you something, if you tell me that a person who looks like this:
Cannot also be interested in the deep, intrinsic workings of politics and the next five years of her country, you are fucking wrong. Because that is a solid A grade photo of me. And you know what I've spent the past week of my life doing? I've spent it poring over My Nazi Germany and Crusades work, revising St Thomas Aquinas' fifth way in Summa Theologica and staying up to check exit polls as they come in. There is literally no correlation between being attractive and being intelligent. You can do both. And you know what? I took that selfie cus I felt cute. Six months ago, would I have done that? No. But watching the likes go up on this photo (and any photo I post of myself) makes me feel a little better. It makes me think "Hey, shit, these people actually think I'm not hideous." So take your puritan, selfie-hating ass away from me. Because I might be a shallow, over confident, egotistical bitch for thinking I look good. But I'd rather pick that, any day, than go back to being the self loathing girl who reduced herself to one meal a day and spent hours looking at weight loss pills, and diet pills, and pulling and pushing at her face to try and look more like a Hollywood A-lister.

So yeah. I don't hate selfies. And I don't think the girls who take them are doing anything other than appreciating themselves.

And there is nothing wrong with that.

As always, stay safe, and remember,
I'm with you till the end of the line, folks ♥
